I love that quote that tells us how the only constant is change. We can always rely on time passing us by and on the fact that we are constantly changing and growing. The only question is: are we changing for the better or for the worse?
This goal I have set for myself is going to challenge me in ways that I don’t even know yet. I cannot for a second allow fear to control my mind and neither should you when you are working on a great goal. I sit down and I think about everything that is going into training to climb this mountain. I feel how precious a moment it will be reaching the summit of Mt. Rainier after logging hours of training, studying, and exploration. Then I open my eyes and tell myself that I can get there.
Don’t back down. Don’t give in to fear and risk greatness.
If you feel fear setting in, stop and visualize how great it will be when you finally accomplish your goal. Then get to work. To aid you throughout this process I have put together a list of a few things to remind yourself of when you need a little bit of encouragement to press on and trust yourself.
#1 Discover your motivators. Ask yourself why you are doing this? Having a strong foundation to build from is the first key to success.
#2 If what you are doing isn’t pushing you to your limits, there is no personal growth. Embrace the challenge and change.
#3 Fear is often just a lie your mind is telling you. When the going gets tough, trust in the power, the skill, and the knowledge that you have and press on.
#4 Strive to exercise daily and eat optimal nutrition. For the best energy and performance daily you need to have the best body to support you along the way.
#5 Celebrate the small wins along the way. Be proud of the small things you accomplish along the way to your big goal, you’ll be happier.
#6 Things take time.
